After Juliet

Unit & Production Assistant

A young actor auditions for his dream role has one last callback, only it’s with his old love. Now, to get the role, he has to confront the heartbreak he’s been holding.

This is not a queer tragedy. That happened 7 years ago. This is a job interview, working alongside the only man he has ever loved. The one who ruined him. Only, he's stronger now. That's what this whole acting thing has been about for Charlie. He's figuring out who he is, even if it hurts, so he can stop apologizing for it. You don't have to forgive your abusers, nor do you need revenge on them. In fact, you don't even have to listen when they talk. All you need to do, is forgive yourself. Charlie's shame holds him back, makes him vulnerable to people like Ryan, as it did for many years. They find it's not much different now that they are adults, but Charlie needs it to be. We tell this story of standing up in the hope that someone else might.

This project is the culmination of multiple artists training and development, over the past 6 months the script has been rigorously crafted and curated to tell a story of lost love and the hold our childhood has on us. Every moment has been carefully thought out by our team of emerging filmmakers, each of which care deeply about this story being brought to life. We hope that this film will resonate with some and enlighten others, whilst also being a calling card as we enter the budding Australian entertainment industry.

Set to be released in 2024
